I’ve been doing voiceover work as a hobby for years, and I’ve also done some small paid VO projects. I have a small portfolio of samples, but I’m now interested in seriously pursuing fantasy audiobook narration.

I’ve worked as an editor in film for over a decade, so a lot of the narrative, pacing, performance, and technical skills translate well to audiobook production. Working in film has also meant occasionally doing voice work myself, and I’ve always loved it.

Before I pursue larger paid audiobook projects, I’d like to take on one complete fantasy novel and find out whether my love for voice work translates across a full-length book.

I do want to be clear that I’m not offering this to just anyone. A full novel is a serious amount of work, so I’m only looking to take on a project I genuinely love and feel suited to. The story, tone, characters, and author all need to feel like the right fit for both sides.

Why I’m doing this:

Breaking into audiobook narration can be difficult, and professional audiobook production can also be expensive for authors. This feels like a practical way for both sides to benefit: the author gets a completed audiobook, and I get to test myself on a real long-form project while building my audiobook portfolio.

I’m also interested in finding an author I could potentially continue working with on future projects. There would be no obligation beyond this free audiobook, but if the collaboration goes well, I’d be open to discussing future paid work together.

He ended up picking me out of dozens of talented authors after I dropped him my pitch (check it out HERE) and sent him some samples that showed my range, POV requirements, and tension control. I was flabbergasted, amazed, and I have been so thankful for Liam and for everything that led me to this point. We started working together on how the voices should feel until we got things in working order, and ever since this crazy dude has pumped out multiple professional-grade chapters per week!

The audiobook is going to be something special, I promise you that. Liam has such a vast array of voices, accents, and tonal & emotional depth – a perfect match for the unforgiving chasm of The Shattered Line. With thirteen (yes, thirteen) Point of View characters in the first novel alone, you know this story requires someone with that kind of range to really make it shine.

We’re expecting a release around December 2026, but there could of course be delays or something. I will update here, the Grimdark subreddits, the Grimdark Facebook group, and on my socials as the pre-release stage happens, so don’t be worried about missing the news.
